Description

The North East School Division, a progressive, thriving, community-based school division, is currently seeking motivated individual interested in an apprenticeship opportunityin Tisdalewith duties to commence as soon as can be mutually agreed upon.
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday - 8 hours/day.

The Apprentice Mechanicprovides the hands-on and technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of a variety of gasoline and diesel powered school buses and other school division vehicles.

Responsibilities and Duties
Under the direction of the Mechanic Foreman you will be working with Journeyperson Mechanics to learn and assist with:
safety and repair of school buses within the fleet.
preventative maintenance program for all division-owned vehicles.
troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on all fleet vehicles.
work orders,
parts inventory when required.
Qualifications and Skills
Grade 12 diploma from a provincially recognized institution or equivalent.
Mechanically inclined and possess a second, third or fourth year apprenticeship certificate. We will also accept candidates who have completed mechanical pre-employment training and looking to start their apprenticeship program.
A willingness tounderstand legislative and regulatory requirements for the safe operation of both a fleet, and repair facility.
Proficiency in the operation of computers, word processing, diagnostic applications and additional software used by the school division.
Valid class 5 Driver's License.

Pay Range: TBD depending upon if you have started in an Apprenticeship Program. Increases as per the Teamsters Local Union No. 395Collective Agreement.
