Description

Permanent 0.5 position
The Spiritual Care Practitioner works in close partnership with the Holistic Care Team in utilizing professional methodology and practice to provide support to staff, patients and their defined family. The Spiritual Care Practitioner provides compassionate presence while providing emotional and spiritual care and counsel; Promoting wholeness and well-being. Spiritual care practitioners honour all persons and are respectful of their unique journey and the interweaving of health, cultural, philosophical, religious and/or spiritual tradition.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor Degree in Theology
    Experience in healthcare, specifically palliative care and end of life care is preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    ability to work in a multi-faith, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary setting
    demonstrate a strong capacity to promote the Mission and Values of Emmanuel Care and the Hospice
    ability to work in a high pressure environment
    demonstrate leadership qualities
    ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    ability to engage in ethical reflection
    have a record of achievement as a collaborative leader, community and team builder possessing a high degree of interpersonal sensitivity and communication skills
    possess excellent communication and organizational skills
    demonstrate public speaking and media relations skills
    demonstrate use of computer programs, such as Microsoft programs
    demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
