The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement is seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Building Services Branch as a Class 3 Building Official. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all government facilities comply with the relevant building codes and standards, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of concepts, principles, standards, practices, materials, and equipment used in the design and construction of buildings and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of procurement processes for facility design and construction in the public sector, contracts, contract law, and the application of specifications and standards.
- Familiarity with relevant computer software and applications including Word, Excel, MS-Project and Access or equivalent software and applications.
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to a project team.
- Ability to research and write clear, concise reports which provide technical information at a level appropriate to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with sometimes conflicting deadlines and meet or reset established deadlines.
- Ability to negotiate contracts with various partners, staying within established budgets and maintaining established standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program in building technology, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
- Class 3 Building Official certification.
- Experience with Rick Hansen Certification would be considered an asset.
