Description

The Meadow Lake Tribal Council is seeking a LLRC Math Consultant to join the Office of Education. The LLRC Math Consultant will support the implementation of the LLRC curriculum, best-practice instructional strategies, and assessment initiatives.  This position will use an Indigenous lens to coordinate and support teachers in implementing LLRC Curriculum competencies, strength-based assessment for learning that align with School Success Plans and Land-Based Calendars. This position will develop meaningful and supportive relationships with MLFN schools, to ensure consistency between program supports and MLTC.

Duties: Provide consulting services to Mathematics teachers within MLFN schools. Recommend & facilitate professional development activities for the 9 First Nations math teachers in all grade levels
-Aquiring professional resources for MLTC Office of Ed. & for MLFN school mathematics program as required & with budetary parameters. Assisting with the development & implementation of MLTC Office of Ed. programs & initiatives
-Implementing best practices of teacher/catalyst improvement to assist all MLFM teachers & catalysts in improving their quality of instruction & assessment. Including, but not limited to team teaching, modeling, one-on-one in class support & assistance with lesson development
-Collaborating with internal & external partners, such as FSIN, Ministry of Education, MLTC Health, Justice, etc.

Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Education; Master's Degree or commitment to begin studies appropriate to the Math field in Education
-Minimum 5 years of teaching experience the K-12 classroom setting
-Saskatchewan Teachers 'A' Certification or the ability to obtain such standing
-Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities; work within a team setting & independently
