Description

Manage the overall delivery of Child and Family Services by ensuring effective case management and program practices, according to the Child and Family Services Act and the First Nations Child Welfare Act.

    Supervise staff including family service, child protection, family finders, off reserve, administrative support, family support and on call workers
    Investigate all major child and family matters such as but not limited to: deaths, suicides, child abuse involving band members and present written report (Child Death Review) to the Executive Director within 48 hours
    Continue to build and maintain the foundation of the MLCFA protection unit by promoting a cohesive work team
    Plan, organize and coordinate work load and setting of staff policy, including the setting of priorities for family services staff
    Delegate workers to ensure coverage is consistent at the office
    Maintain statistics for 6-month reviews, skeleton and deadwood files
    Responsible for all personnel decisions including but not limited to staffing, progressive discipline, staff evaluations, training needs etc.
    Ability to mediate staff, and/or with the familys agency is working with
    Prepare and be present for Family Service Court when required
    Maintain monthly on call schedule and be available for managerial inquiries during on call schedule
    Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors
    Work and communicate with other agencies, SK Ministry of Social Services and Canada
