Description

The Canadian Public Safety Operations Organization (CanOps)is inviting applications from qualified persons for the position of Enforcement Dispatcher, within our Provincial Emergency Communications Centre (PECC). The PECC offers a wide range of services in the public safety spectrum.  We are the first point of contact to receive, assess and route 911 calls in the Province, with the exception of Saskatoon and Regina. In addition, we provide call taking and dispatch services for 365 Fire Departments from across the Province. We serve one municipal police service and several Government of Saskatchewan ministries and agencies.  

The Enforcement Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring and tracking officer activities with an emphasis on ensuring officer safety. They perform a variety of job functions including running queries, responding to officer emergencies and providing resources and support as needed. We answer and process calls from the public as well as record and dispatch public safety resources for incidents and activities throughout or Province.  

The successful candidate will be required to complete a 3-month full-time training term that consists of both classroom and in house training. Opportunities to cross train in other areas of emergency communications including police call taking/dispatching, 911 call taking, and fire dispatching are available.

Conditions of Employment

High School Diploma or Canadian equivalent
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Mandatory minimum typing speed of 35wpm
Clear Criminal Record Check
Certified hearing test
Ability to work a rotating shift schedule consisting of 12 hour shifts both days and nights, including holidays and weekends
