The Millwright/Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the installation, layout, preventative maintenance and on-going maintenance of machinery and equipment. Working as part of the maintenance team, the Millwright/Industrial Mechanic ensures all machinery is running safely and the plant is operating in compliance with applicable regulations. All maintenance work will be carried out efficiently while placing the highest priority on safety. The right candidate must be willing to learn, and work as part of a team or independently depending on the work required.
Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors furnaces, generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
Follow all company food and health and safety policies and procedures.
Performs other tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
