Description

The Saskatchewan Literacy Network is a not-for-profit, charitable provincial organization. We advance literacy in the province through resources, training, and ongoing supports for literacy practitioners. We are hiring a Family Literacy Specialist to join our team, 0.6 or 0.8 full-time equivalent, until March 31, 2025, with a possibility of extension.

This position will support family literacy advancement in Saskatchewan and collaborations across the country. Working with the team, this position will research, (re-)design, and deliver family literacy resources, training, and ongoing supports for family literacy practitioners in Saskatchewan. This position also supports family literacy awareness communication strategies, including social media.

The ideal candidate has a strong background family literacy, and in designing programming and supports that honour diversity, neurodiversity, and multi-generational learning, ensuring Indigenous ways of knowing are well reflected, and incorporating clear language and inclusive design.

The success of this position relies on an individual's knowledge and experience with inclusive family literacy practices and related research, designing resources and support materials, and developing and delivering training for family literacy practitioners. This position works in a team with the SLN staff, enhancing family literacy, in collaboration with the family literacy fields in Saskatchewan and Canada, and reports directly to the Executive Director.

This position location is flexible. You may work either from our Saskatoon office or remotely from any location within the province. The SLN will cover the costs of any trips we require you to make, from within Saskatchewan to the Saskatoon office.
