Description

Reporting to the Prevention Director. The Cegakin Prevention Services on Carry The Kettle First Nation, is looking for a highly energetic, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to fill the position of Family Finders Worker for the Prevention Services Department and will be responsible for child-specific and family finding recruitment with the goal of permanence for children, identifying a permanent resource committed to the child/youth. Kin supports in the child / youths life who can best meet and promote their need for safety, well-being, and permanence.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Cegakin Prevention Services in ensuring effective services are implemented and provided to children and their families. This individual will be sensitive, compassionate, and professional in all areas relating to the Prevention Program needs, issues and concerns and will apply a holistic approach to individual, family, and community healing and development.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One (1) to two (2) years of experience working with children, families, communities.
Certificate in Social work.
Experience working in Child and Family Services is considered an asset.
Appropriate combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with staff, other departments.
Enable continuity of relationships between family/community members and the child/youth;
An understanding and knowledge of the Child & Family Services Departments mandate is recommended.
Informed about Nakota/Assiniboine cultural values, customs and beliefs.
Ability to work in chaotic situations and still maintain a sense of humor
Ability to do home safety checks,
Ability to recognize individual learning styles and the characteristics of learners
Ability to comply with NOEC, CTK policies, federal and provincial legislation
