Description

We are seeking a sewer and water lead hand to join our growing Earthworks & Underground Utilities Division. The requirements are listed below.
    Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in sewer & water construction industry
    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take the role as a leader of a team to achieve successful results.
    Customer focused with the ability to build relationships and to discover and meet customer needs.
    Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
    Be familiar with and enforce Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
    Safely operate and supervise the operation of heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, excavators, loader, skid steer, packers.
    Supervise the laying and joining of concrete, HDPE and PVC pipe and fittings for drains, sewers and watermains.
    Inspect piping.
    Supervise rigging of pipe and components for hoisting.
    Supervise hand exposing utilities.
    Supervise cutting and beveling of pipe.
    Take grade shots, read grade stakes and cut grade using laser level.
    Train laborers/pipe layers to shoot in grade levels with tripods and shot rods.
    Train laborers/pipe layers to prepare and grade trenches manually with shovel or by working within close proximity of excavator operators.
    Supervise the complete backfill of piping using compactors, jumping jacks and plate tampers.
    Install manholes and pour concrete.
    Assist with testing the quality of product.
    Ensuring all work is completed within specifications and according to blueprints or building plans.
    High attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills.
    Minimum Class 5 drivers license.
    Must have your own transportation to site.
