Description

Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Organizational Effectiveness Division is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Lead to join the Safety Services team to coordinate, support, implement and monitor SRCs Occupational Health and Safety program through a competent and capable advisory team.

Accountabilities
Provide day-to-day operational leadership, guidance and mentorship to other members of the Safety Services team
Attract, retain, and develop a competent and capable advisory team, providing a consistent experience for key stakeholders throughout the organization.
Develop, review, and implement health and safety policies, plans, programs, education and training appropriate to support business goals
Actively participate in supporting business operations through activities such as providing coaching and guidance in conducting job safety analysis, risk assessments, field level risk assessments and other safety procedures
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits; assist in incident and non-conformity investigations, root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions
Participate in emergency response management
Promote a positive safety culture across the organization with a focus on continual improvement
Qualifications
10-15 years of relevant experience supporting a positive and proactive safety culture by implementing and promoting safe work practices and policies within a manufacturing, processing, mining, or industrial environment
Experience leading and developing teams
Occupational Health and Safety Certification or equivalent is preferred
CRSP designation is an asset
Emergency management experience, training and certifications are assets
Knowledge of ISO 45000 or 14000 is an asset
Knowledge of relevant current legislation, fire and building codes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
