Mental Health Therapist
Sturgeon Lake Central School

Sturgeon Lake Central School is now accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Mental Health Therapist. This position involves performing several tasks, including the ability to provide therapeutic counselling in an educational setting to K-12 students.

Main Duties
The Mental Health Therapist, under supervision of the School Principal, will have duties that include:
    Initial Intake and Assessments
    Meeting with parents/ caregivers
    Provide direct culturally appropriate counseling to First Nation students
    Provide regularly scheduled individual and group counselling sessions.
    Provide crisis intervention
    Provide community mental health and wellness awareness workshops
    Maintain a caseload and complete counselling files
    Participate in treatment planning for children & youth on assigned caseload.
    Prepare reports as required
    Attend collaboration meetings
