The Ministry of Agricultures Indigenous Engagement Unit (IEU) works to build relationships and engage with First Nation and Metis communities in the province.  The unit delivers on strategic priorities by: building internal capacity and knowledge of Indigenous history, traditions and cultures; advising the Ministrys leadership and staff about current agriculture opportunities in communities through research and community outreach; and assisting in the development of policies, programs, and services that are informed by increased Indigenous participation and result in mutually beneficial outcomes in the primary and value-added agriculture sector.

The Indigenous Engagement Unit is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as the Provincial Indigenous Engagement Specialist.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through a completed degree in any of the following: Agriculture, Indigenous Studies, Leadership and Management, Business Administration, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
