Description

Robertson Stromberg LLP is seeking a dedicated and qualified real estate assistant to be part of the team in our real estate practise group.

Responsibilities include:

Assist lawyers with the preparation of legal documentation for residential, commercial and agricultural real estate transactions, including loan and mortgage documents, land titles transfers, and other required closing documents.
Conduct required title and other due diligence searches.
Organize and maintain physical/electronic client files.
Assist with attending to correspondence and communications with mortgage brokers, real estate agents, as required to meet closing transaction deadlines including preparation of statement of adjustments for transactions, requisitioning mortgage proceeds for purchases, and attending to mortgage payouts for sales.
Prepare interim and final reporting documents for clients and mortgage lenders.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1-2 years as a legal assistant with real estate conveyancing experience
Legal Assistant diploma or certificate or other post-secondary education
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Adobe.
Document management and practice management software experience.
Experience with Information Services Corporation (ISC), specifically Online Submission Tool (OLS).
A combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment.
Knowledge of accounting procedures (billing, invoicing).
