Description

The Handyperson (HP) is responsible to provide efficient and effective caretaking support to the agency units, including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards.  The HP is directly responsible to the Director of Residential Services.
Responsibilities:
1.    To perform repairs as needed during occupancy of programs
2.    To perform program renovations & upgrades as directed
3.    To prioritize work to complete assignments & projects in a timely manner
4.    To abide by Occupational Health and Safety and to observe Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures in carrying out required duties
5.    To keep track of receipts for items purchased for each job, obtaining separate receipts per job when possible, noting on each receipt the job address & description of items purchased (if not clear on receipt) and submitting receipts to the office on an at least a monthly basis
6.    To promptly return all excess materials to suppliers for credit/refund and provide documentation to the office on at least a monthly basis
7.    To perform other duties as directed
8.    To act in accordance with the agencys Code of Ethics, philosophy, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:
The Handyperson will have a combination of education and/or experience working in related fields such as construction, carpentry or in custodian positions. These experiences add to the Handypersons overall knowledge base on a variety of repair and maintenance topics. Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check, and valid class 5 drivers license are required.
