Regina Early Learning Centre (RELC) Preschool is looking for a nutrition coordinator to join our team.
Tasks
Follow preschool snack menu to prepare daily snack/meals for 96 students and evening programs as required
Purchase groceries for preschool program and all evening programs
Be fully aware of all food allergies/food intolerances/Halal options
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Follow all safe food handling operations
Ensure all equipment needs are in good condition and inform supervisor when new items need to be purchased
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment and number of students attending daily
Work conditions and physical capabilities
Valid drivers license
Able to do weekly grocery shopping and carry groceries up a flight of stairs
Can be a fast-paced work environment
Able to bake healthy options to serve regularly (muffins, cookies)
Majority of the day is spent standing
Able to carry trays of food and supplies down and up stairs
Description
Experience with cooking and food preparation
Suitable criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
Safe Food Handling certification (recent)
Knowledge of nutrition and an ability to plan a menu
Be reliable, punctual and conscientious
Maintain a positive attitude and serve as a role model
Conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to an educational institution providing services to young children and families
35-hour work week for 7 hours a day Monday-Friday, some evening hours as required
If applicant has an ECE background and has certification, may be eligible for the wage enhancement grant through the Ministry of Education
Work in partnership with the Preschool team to collaborate on food curriculum objectives throughout the school year.
