Description

Nakoda Oyade Education Centre (NOEC) is seeking a full-time Indigenous Curriculum/Land Based Coordinator for the 2024/2025 school year. NOEC is a K-12 school with approximately 275 students enrolled. The school is located on the Carry the Kettle First Nation between the town of Sintaluta and Montmartre SK.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Indigenous Curriculum/Land-Based Coordinator at Nakoda Oyade Education Centre is vital in fostering cultural preservation and academic excellence by developing and implementing Indigenous-focused curriculum and land-based learning initiatives. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the integration of Indigenous knowledge, traditions, and practices into the educational programs at Nakoda Oyade Education Centre. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and community members to promote culturally relevant and land-based learning experiences that empower Indigenous students and enhance their connection to their heritage.
The successful candidate will possess an understanding of, or desire to learn about Nakoda values and will be required to participate in cultural activities.
