Under the direction of the Prevention Case Manager, the Prevention Case Workers will provide leadership in ensuring the well-being of Beardys & Okemasis children and families residing on reserve through implementing preventative programs and service strategies. The Prevention Workers will work out of the BOCN Youth Center and coordinate community prevention programs for youth, children, and families and ensure the availability of and access to developmental programming, guide them to counseling needs, and other identified family support programs identified in community prevention family case management plans. You can collaborate with various stakeholders, such as community organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions, to develop and implement prevention programs and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure prevention services are delivered with excellence and conform to BOCNs philosophies, policies, procedures and protocols as well to federal legislation, regulations and standards of prevention services,
Responsible for providing a community-centered approach to educate and provide services to families in the community that will promote child development, family wellness, self-sufficiency, independence, and resiliency, to prevent harm and child maltreatment.
Promotes (Family Centered Approach) reunification, and repatriation, and seeks to prevent separating a child or young person from their family wherever possible, while ensuring the safety and well-being of children and ensuring supports are in place that enable families to thrive towards independence, without enabling them.
Provide services that are intended to provide safety and well-being interventions that are identified based on the childs best interest, including cultural, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being, and other activities to promote and enhance a child or young persons safety, health, social, and emotional development.
