Leads and oversees the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and quality control of the MGHBLM FN Mental Health and Wellness Team, which focuses on enhancing mental health and wellness outcomes through targeted service improvements. These include cross continuum mental health and wellness services, including trauma-informed practice, outreach, and crisis response services. Prioritizes optimizing the mental health and wellness service experiences of MGBHLM individuals and families, thereby impacting overall mental health and wellness services for the community population.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Leads and coordinates collaborative services approach with community based and cultural organizations including but not limited to Kanaweyimik, BATC, Poundmakers Lodge and Saskatchewan Health Authority. Leads the mapping of the local, regional and provincial health and social systems that are important for improving the health and wellness outcomes for MGBHLM members, living with mental health and addictions.
2. Utilizing Indigenous ways of knowing and being into service model within personal practice and team function by including community perspectives into planning and incorporating guidance from indigenous leaders and knowledge keepers.
3. Develops partnerships with community health and wellness service providers and local health care providers in offering spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellness of community members, and improve transitions in care and access to appropriate primary health, public health and addictions medicine.
4. Communicates and leads team expectations with cross-organization partners in a timely manner, ensures that presentations and communications materials are appropriate for all audiences. Audiences may include, but not limited to, Island Health Authority, Ministry of Children and Families, external educators, and First Nations, in regards to integrated service models and building capacity in First Nations.
