Description

Position Description:
Under the direction of the Board of Directors and reporting to the President, the fundraising coordinator is responsible for all aspects of organizing and implement fundraising initiatives, as well as donor and volunteer management.
The position requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate some evening and weekend hours for meetings and fund-raising events.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
    Establishes fundraising goals in conjunction with the Board of Directors
    Manages and coordinates 1-2 weekly fundraising events/draws on social media
    Manages and coordinates all aspects of existing fundraisers and other events
    Continually builds a community volunteer base
    Reports regularly to the board on all fundraising events
    Manages social media such as Facebook, Twitter and other possible sites as requested
    Ensures pre/post-event/activity information including photos and event summary is uploaded on to our website or social media in a timely manner
    Manages event information, including databases, budgets, contracts, sponsors, contributors and event details
    Ensures all relevant event stakeholders are recognized in an appropriate and timely way
    Continually builds a donor base
    Builds and maintains positive external relationships
    At all times, ensure a polite and professional image of the SPCA Swift Current in all communications, promotions and public events/relations
    Ensures that legal requirements related to fundraising are fulfilled
    Seek out and researches new fundraising ideas
    Communicates effectively

Qualifications and Skills:
    Media and public relations experience
    Related experience in a not-for-profit environment is preferred
    Social media knowledge and skills
    Computer and database skills
    Above average oral and written communication
    Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
    Ability to work as a team or independently
    Ability to work flexible hours as needed
