Description

The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum.  

The ADEA is seeking a competent, confident, motivated individual to fill the position of a contractor, as a Mental Health Therapist, at Father Gamache Memorial School (FGMS), located in Fond Du Lac, Father Porte Memorial Dene School (FPMDS) located in Black Lake, and Father Megret Elementary School (FMES) and Father Megret High School (FMHS), both schools located in Hatchet Lake. FGMS and FPMDS are a Pre-K to Grade 12 facility, FMES is a Pre-K to Grade 6 facility, and FMHS is a Grade 6 to 12 facility, with a student population of 250-400 at each school. All schools have a strong group of professional and paraprofessional staff.



OPPORTUNITY:

The Mental Health Therapist will provide mental health services that involves providing direct culturally appropriate clinical counseling to students, intake assessments and the development of treatment plans, provide crisis intervention that addresses issues, and work towards helping each student to reach their fullest potential. Contractors are required to provide support in communities at a minimum of 1 week in and 1 week out and after hours and weekend support during their shift.
