One Arrow First Nation is seeking a dynamic and committed individual to join our Team on a full-time basis in the capacity of a Heavy Equipment-Grader Operator.
The Heavy Equipment-Grader Operator will report to the Public Works Manager and is responsible for operating all heavy equipment machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
The Heavy Equipment-Grader Operator must adhere to the One Arrow First Nation Personnel policy and procedures, Confidentiality Agreement and Code of Ethics, and Fit for Duty policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures; Perform daily safety and maintenance checks; Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required;Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored;Maintain inventory of equipment(grease equipment weekly, arrange oil changes);Maintain roads and transportation in order to ensure safe roadways within the One Arrow First Nation; Ensure access to houses, businesses, water supply and waste sites; Maintain easements;Perform pre-winter, winter, spring and summer maintenance on roads; Use equipment for snow removal when necessary; Report to Public Works Manager of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Heavy Equipment Operator certificate
High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good Customer Skills
Ability to understand and follow instructions and ability to read, retain and comprehend guidelines, policies and procedures applicable to position.
Able to work independently as well as in a large team.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Available to provide regular and predictable attendance (you may be scheduled to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and schedules may vary on a weekly basis).
