Description

We are searching for Grain Purchaser. This position will be based in Regina Saskatchewan. Purchaser will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the relationships of existing and new key accounts with growers and brokers. Purchaser will be accountable for Profit and Loss as per contract. Purchaser must understand Agricultural market needs to create value added solutions for buyers.

Responsibilities:

Weekly Purchasing projects
Establish and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures
Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key farmers, brokers and suppliers
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms
Review and resolve any discrepancies with invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues
Provide projections to Leadership Team or key buyers to ensure product availability on a timely basis


Experience/Qualifications:

5+ years leading in grain purchasing
Demonstrated supervisory experience spanning multiple sites and projects
Experience and ability to develop key accounts and negotiate/communicate effectively with farmers
Experienced with CP or CN Rail, CGC rules, EDC policies and grading tables.
Experience in Agricultural Commodities trading.
Business financial management acumen (ability to understand the cost drivers for each commodity/process and identify solutions.
Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Cloud, Microsoft Apps, KPI and ERP software preferred
Amazing communications and relationship building skills along with the aptitude to influence and assist growers in making decisions
