Job Description: Reporting to the Site Manager Systemic Therapy and the Site Manager Outpatient Services, the Clinical Nurse Educator integrates skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning in the provision of direct patient care, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, education and research for oncology nursing. The incumbent will provide leadership that is visible, pro-active, and promotes the delivery of patient care through the application of practice standards.  In consultation with the Site Managers, the individual is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, and implementing and evaluating designated educational activities/programs.  The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to healthcare professionals as appropriate.

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides development initiatives and leadership in all spheres of nursing: clinical, practice, education, research, and quality improvement.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
Completion of Oncology Nursing Certification CON(C) or equivalent.  Where this is not complete, the successful candidate is required to obtain certification within two years of date of hire to the position.
Licensed with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Experience
Five (5) years previous experience working in Oncology Nursing.
Previous experience in nursing education an asset.
Experience in developing programs/resources for staff in the areas of planning, implementation, quality monitoring, and evaluation.
