Reporting to the President of SEIU-West, the Employment Relations Manager will be working as a member of the senior leadership team. This person will provide overall employment relations leadership and advice to the organization; oversee the development and implementation of human resource policies, programs and services, including labour relations, employment practices, compensation and benefits, development of a human resources information system (HRIS), assist with recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, legal compliance, and employee communications in a unionized workplace. The incumbent shall have a full understanding of and commitment to SEIU-West's vision and take an active role in the implementation of that vision. As a member of senior leadership, the incumbent is expected to lead by example. All staff are responsible for conducting themselves in a safe and responsible manner. All staff are expected to respect the processes of the organization and are expected to work within the framework of the agreed mechanisms to resolve internal disputes and issues in a respectful and collaborative manner
