Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1.Provide leadership to new and returning employees. Role model efficiency and diligence for
all Ice Cream Employee responsibilities, use effective communication techniques, and provide
outstanding customer service. Directly responsible to Ice Cream Manager.
2.Complete Ice Cream Daily Checklist, Shift Change Checklist, and Weekly Checklist, by delegating
tasks that have not been completed voluntarily and checking that tasks are completed to
standard.
3.Train new staff in all shop responsibilities at the beginning of season training as delegated by
management and throughout season as needed.
4.Work with Ice Cream Manager to develop schedule. Serve as first level of approval for staff
switches, clear with Shop Manager weekly or as needed.
5.Troubleshoot staffing issues, difficult customers, mechanical issues, etc. If overstaffed,
consult with management and dismiss employees early for the day. Refer to management
as needed.
6.Understand the necessity of in-the-moment feedback and follow the companys Employee
Improvement Policy to address new and returning employee transgressions.
7.Provide feedback to Shop Manager on employees, in confidence for annual Performance
Reviews. Collect employee and customer suggestions weekly, innovate what is beneficial.
8.Track inventory of ice cream supplies, kitchen supplies, dry goods, paper products and soda.
Place orders as needed, inform Shop Manager when orders are placed. Monitor food safety rules
in kitchen.
9.Monitor food safety regulations.
10.Count opening and closing change boxes, register drawers, filling out the Daily Sheet,
overseeing register closeouts.
11.Facilitate the Emergency Action Plan in the event of incident or emergency, and inform
management immediately. Ensure sure Incident Reports are filled out and given to Ice Cream
Manager.
12.Participate in ongoing Management Team trainings, typically held once a month.
