The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is seeking a results-oriented, dynamic and motivated individual for the position of Fire Base Support in Dorintosh.
This position will be responsible for fire equipment, communication equipment, fuel and facilities within the forest protection area to include: acquisition/write-off of equipment, purchase of supplies, minor maintenance, track/reconcile inventories, test equipment, and ensure movement of equipment is documented and tracked.
The position will be responsible to participate and support large, sustained action fires and will be responsible to train new support staff as required.
Working conditions can include working undefined hours and working in remote locations in inclement conditions. You may be required to work extended hours and up to 12 days in a row.
You must be willing to work away from headquarters for extended periods and be temporarily assigned to other locations in the province.
To qualify for this position, you must possess and maintain a valid class 5 or greater drivers license. Preference will be given to candidates 18 years of age or older. The completion of Grade 12 would be an asset. Computer skills and the completion of a Radio Telephone Operators Restricted Certificate Course would also be an asset.
The successful candidate shall be subject to a criminal record check as a condition of employment.
