To fulfill Pattison Agricultures vision of GROWING, CONNECTING AND EVOLVING we are looking for an Accounting & Payroll Administrator to join our finance team. The successful candidate will perform a combination of general accounting and payroll duties including routine and non-recurring general accounting duties, assists with processing payroll, including full back up of Payroll Specialist position when required. This position reports to our Manager of Accounting and may work out of any of our Pattison Agriculture locations.
Responsibilities:
-Providing daily/monthly accounting support for a range of tasks
-Assist in the monthly closing of general ledger and preparation of month-end schedules
-Assists in gathering information to complete payroll processing
-Assists in monitoring time reporting to avoid payroll errors, and correct as needed
-Exercise discretion and judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information
-Other duties as assigned
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
-Minimum of Grade 12; Business, Accounting, Commerce certification or diploma is a definite asset; or a combination of education and experience
-General accounting and payroll processing experience is preferred
-Familiar with the labour laws of Saskatchewan and Manitoba
-Agriculture Industry knowledge will be beneficial
-Understands accounting fundamentals such as debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budgets
-Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus internet functions; proficient in Excel, Equip
-Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
