Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector will provide quality control inspection for all fabricated products, process materials, purchased items, CISC steel fabrication standards, blasting, painting and weld conformance to applicable standards for all projects and materials that are work in process and ongoing onto completion and prior to shipping release.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, with a college or university degree preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience;
At least 5 years' experience in welding and fabrication in the custom steel fabrication industry is an asset;
Knowledge of CWB 47.1 and CSA W59 codes and standards and an understanding of Saskarc's quality control manual pertaining to the certification requirements;
Blueprint reading and related duties;
Visual and mental concentration, good eyesight and/or proper prescription eyewear;
Attention to detail and accuracy;
Good knowledge of shop mathematics and trade related geometry and trigonometry; working knowledge of metric and imperial measurements;
Able to identify the critical dimensions on a drawing and verify and compare the as-built dimensional check to the specified drawing;
Verbal, listening and reading skills are required to clarify design, components, specifications and project requirements;
Ability to safely operate powered mobile equipment.
