Description

RIWC is a settlement services provider organization dedicated to integrating newcomer women and their families. We are seeking a HIPPY Coordinator to deliver the HIPPY curriculum to the mothers registered with the program. The Coordinator should be friendly and can connect well with parents from a variety of backgrounds
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute and implement of the HIPPY program in accordance with terms specified in the
contractual agreement and under the direction of the Manager
Support recruitment and selection of eligible HIPPY families and Home Visitor staff
Conduct in-service and weekly trainings for Home Visitors.
Make periodic home visits to for regular follow-ups on progress made with Families.
Prepare site visits/monitors by regulatory authorities and funders.
Plan and execute monthly group meetings that may include Role-play/learning activities
from the curriculum and/or enrichment activities prepared to engage, educate and
empower families
Establish effective partnerships with other Service Provider Organizations in order to
ensure optimal service delivery to participating families
Prepare, maintain and update records for all HIPPY Program activities and Staff.
Prepare accurate required reports
participate in HIPPY Conferences
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in early childhood, elementary, family or adult education, social work or any other related field.
Class 5 drivers license
Experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset: educational administration, community mobilization, parent empowerment/family support, child/family advocacy or staff development.
Good organizational skills and task oriented
Ability to adhere to schedules and specific timetables
Demonstrated emotional maturity and sensitivity to the needs and interests of newcomers
Ability to work in a multicultural environment and flexible hours
Report writing experience
