The Director is responsible for managing and directing the corporations internal and external communications, community relations and government/CIC and media relations. During 2023, this position will transfer to Lottery and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS), reporting to the Vice President of Policy & Relationships. The Director of Communications is responsible for:
Providing strategic communication expertise for the corporation.
Assisting in preparing the corporations strategic plan, budget, and annual report (communications lens).
Providing communications advice to executive management and staff.
Liaising with gaming partners as required.
Responding to public requests for information from members, government agencies, businesses, advocacy groups, and other associations.
Ensuring effective quality control and oversight of publications, speeches, feature articles, website content and news releases, briefing materials, as well as leadership and organization of special events.
Supporting events as attended by the board of directors and executive management.
Developing and approach to increase understanding of strategic direction, plan andongoing initiatives.
Overseeing all internal communications and corporate events.
Providing leadership in the delivery of reputation management.
Liaising with Crown Investments Corporation and the Crown sector communications heads to contribute to strategic direction.
Liaising with the Ministers Office, Executive Council and CIC regarding communications alignment with government priorities.
Acting as Chief Spokesperson for the corporation, as required.
Providing leadership in the delivery of corporate relations.
Mentoring and managing staff as assigned.
