The City of Warman invites applications for the position of Economic Development Officer
The City of Warman is seeking to fill the full-time position of Economic Development Officer working at City Hall. This position reports directly to the City Manager. The Economic Development Officer (EDO) is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on strategic economic initiatives that promotes the City of Warman, including overseeing an Economic Development Strategic Action Plan. The EDO shall have a lead role in activities and initiatives that will attract investment and business opportunities to the City of Warman and will actively support or lead business retention and expansion activities that will maintain and increase local employment within the City.
Requirements:
University degree in a related field (Economics, Business Administration, Finance or Marketing)
Three to five (3 - 5) years of related experience within a municipal or government environment.
Extensive knowledge of community economic development theories and practices.
Ability to negotiate sensitive issues related to economic development, business retention, expansion and community improvement plans.
Experience with business planning and market analysis.
Demonstrate an understanding of relevant municipal government affairs, business support and funding programs.
Knowledge of office administration capabilities, including financial management and analysis.
Class 5 Drivers License and Drivers Abstract
Must pass a criminal background check
