Description

Fast Genetics is currently seeking a highly motivated person to fill a permanent full-time position as an Assistant Barn Manager at our Beatty barn.

This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to:
-Assisting with administrative duties and staff concerns when the manager is away,
-Assisting in analyzing barn production results and adjust the team's daily activities to maximize production,
-Assisting with bin level/measuring and feed ordering,
-Assisting in developing troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with other team members,
Performing specific department duties and minor maintenance tasks,
-Ensuring proper health, handling, and comfort of all animals is being followed by all staff,
-Ensuring feed and water systems are working properly,
-Monitoring and maintaining proper ventilation and temperature,
-Keeping accurate records on all animals as requested, i.e.: pig identification,
-Working safely while performing all job duties,
-Ensure the barn's biosecurity protocol is followed by all staff and visitors,
-Performing other general farm duties as required.

The successful candidate would ideally possess the following qualifications and experiences:
-Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills with great attention to detail,
-Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
-Self-motivated and reliable,
-Experience in a leadership role is an asset,
-3-5 yrs. experience in swine production,
-Able to manage priorities and solve problems,
-Shares in Fast Genetics core values.
