This position works a rotation of shifts: two (2) shifts of 12:00pm-9:15 pm and two (2) shifts of 9:00pm-7:15 am, followed by 4 days off. Shifts include weekdays and weekends. Needing availability seven days per week and for all shifts. The position is responsible for:
- direct client services for women and children impacted by interpersonal violence
- providing support, advocacy, information, and referrals as necessary to residents and callers
- answering the crisis line and responding to crisis line callers
- implementing services and programs provided by Southwest Crisis Services;
- general maintenance of the Safe Shelter;
- administrative function
- ensuring safety and security procedures are followed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or GED equivalent is required.
- One year post-secondary education or significant experience in social services or human services field is preferred.
- An understanding of and sensitivity to issues relevant to family violence, particularly violence against women.
- Ability and desire to work well with others.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license.
