Treaty Six Education Council (TSEC) is accepting applications for the position of IT Technician to provide technical support to our member/affiliated schools, with duties to commence on March 22, 2021.
TSEC is a second level educational services organization serving the following member/affiliate band schools:
Ahtahkakoop, Beardy & Okemasis, Big Island Lake, Big River, Little Pine, Poundmaker, Mosquito, Pelican Lake, Red Pheasant, Saulteaux and Sweetgrass
Qualifications:
Completion of a computer and/or networking related college program, and/or;
Completion of a Computer Science degree, and/or;
Completion of certifications that demonstrate the understanding required to fulfill duties related to the Technician position
Relevant experience will be considered
Hold a valid drivers license and possess reliable transportation
Required Skills and Abilities:
Well developed interpersonal skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently, yet carefully follow direction from the Systems Administrator
Demonstrate a positive attitude in a team environment
Aptitude for technical work and ability to research new technology and unfamiliar concepts in relation to schools and administrative offices
Configuration and maintenance of servers both physical and virtualized
Liaison with school staff to determine technology needs for educational purposes
Coordinate software/hardware purchases
Development and maintenance of positive relationships with vendors and service providers
Research, development and implementation of IT security measures as per industry best practice
Research and implementation of program surveillance systems
