Brief description
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Cook to work in our cafe. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience preparing both Canadian and Asian cuisines, enjoys working in a busy restaurant environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. Job responsibilities
    Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items, set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment;
    Collaborate with other coworkers to prepare meals during our dining hours;
    Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.), maintain accurate food inventories;
    Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures;
    Rotate stock items as per established procedures;
    Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts;
    Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen;
    Cook our menu items in various utensils or grillers.
Job requirements
    Completion of college or other program in cooking, or 2+ years experience as a cook in the restaurant industry, preferably with preparing Asian and/or Canadian cuisines;
    Able to read and follow standardized recipes;
    Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures;
    Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
