Hipperson Construction is a Regina based General Contractor providing commercial and industrial construction services to a wide variety of clients in Saskatchewan. As the company achieves consistent growth, we require additional expertise and skills in our accounting team.
The Accountant will report to Senior Management and is responsible to:
Assist the Accountant with accounting responsibilities for Hipperson Construction and associated companies which includes:
o Preparation of monthly progress invoices
o Ensure final payments of holdbacks from owner and to all subcontractors are completed upon project close out
o Administer input of Change Orders and changes to Prime Contract
o Supervise the activity and performance of accounting personnel for the effective completion of bi-weekly payroll, accounts payable, job costing reports, employee benefits administration and other accounting duties
o Preparing Bank deposits and reconciliations
o Some insurance and taxation administration
Assume leadership role in the implementation of new accounting software and systems integration with existing project management software
The ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelors degree in accounting, with preference given to a CPA Designation
A solid understanding of accounting principles, full-cycle accounting, budgeting, cash flow and financial statements
Strong knowledge of information technology, including computer software and systems integration
Strong math, critical thinking, problem solving and analytical review capabilities
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
