Position Summary: This position primarily will be inspecting trailers, collecting samples, loading and unloading trucks as well as keeping cement pads swept in the shipping and receiving area. This position also assists with bagging and toting of product that is shipped by container. This position will assist in keeping all areas swept; this includes the seed cleaning plant, warehouse, shop and outdoor cemented areas. The person in this position must ensure conveyance equipment is clean and may have to clean the inside of bins and trailers. The employee in this position needs to be self-motivated and must be detail oriented.
Duties:
1. Operates conveyance equipment for loading and unloading grain.
2. Cleans conveyance equipment.
3. Collects samples before unloading, during unloading and loading of grain.
4. Tests samples for moisture.
5. Keeps receiving & shipping areas swept.
6. Completes trailer inspections before loading and unloading.
7. Assists with bagging and toting grain for container shipping.
8. Assist with keeping all cement areas clear and swept, including but not limited to, the cement under seed plant bins, shop floor, warehouse floor.
9. Assists with cleaning bins to pedigreed seed standards.
10. Assists with maintaining yards doing such duties as cutting grass, spraying weeds, weed whacking, rototilling, etc.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to operate:
a. Grain handling system
b. Air compressor
c. Passenger vehicles and have class 5 drivers license.
d. Garden tractor, weed whacker & hand sprayer.
2. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as shovelling grain and climbing bins, in difficult working conditions, such as heat, exposure to dust and loud noises.
3. Ability to handle grain bags of up to 110 lbs.
4. Ability to work independently and take the initiative to identify and complete work required, all while paying close attention to the details.
