Job Responsibilities:
The Early Childhood Educators will work with children 18 months to 12 years old in a group setting working as a team with other staff members.
The staff shall be responsible to their Floor Supervisor for the proper execution of their duties, which shall include but are not restricted to:
Develop and implement daily activities for children.
Adapt programming to meet the needs and abilities of children in your group.
Help children clean up after activities and role model a sense of responsibility and pride in their environment.
Maintain child care equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties.
Be familiar with and abide by safety, first aid, fire procedures and the Child Care Regulations.
Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities
Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts
Be familiar with emergency procedures
Ensure children are supervised at all times including bathroom
Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story telling
Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time
Establish (visual) routines and provide positive guidance
Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable and welcome
Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Early Childhood Education (ECE I), or willing to take classes.
Ability to work with people of different ethic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
First Aid and CPR-C
Willing to take WHIMS
