Canada North Environmental Services (CanNorth) is a environmental consulting firm, based in Saskatoon. In this new role, you will need a high attention to detail, strong analytic and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi task and meet deadlines. Responsibilities would include, but is not limited to:
Financial Reporting:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year end financials.
- Analyzing financial information and summarize to advise on current and future expenditures for maximum ROI and project performance.
- Manage the year-end audit, preparation of year-end working papers and liaise with external auditors.
- Design and preparation of budgets for review by management.
Accounting
- Process payroll, filing regulatory requirements, remittances and tax documentation.
- Identify and put into place internal controls and monitor regularly, identifying issues as they arise.
Project Work
- Working with Project Managers to identify and implement strategies that reduce operational costs and improve the financial success of individual projects.
- Review existing systems, implement and maintain effective project management and reporting system.

You will need a minimum of five years previous experience, hold a professional accounting designation (CPA), and have a strong grasp of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE). You will need prior experience with tax and investment documents, have advanced MS Excel computer skills and hands-on experience with the accounting software Sage 50.
