Seeking labourers in Province of Saskatchewan, not limited to Melfort.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, cable
trailers and move materials in work areas
- Pull fibre through conduit to pedestals
- Install/Replace pedestals and cabinets
- Perform testing and troubleshooting if
required
- Direct traffic and carry out other traffic
management activities as needed
- Maintain tools and equipment as per
manufacturers specifications
- Excavation by hand where necessary
- Maintain clean and safe work sites; remove
debris and trash at construction sites
- Manual Labour, shoveling, digging,
backfill etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
or crew leader
Experience Required
- Related experience (i.e. Labourer,
Construction, etc.)
- Experience with fibre optics considered a
major asset
- Working in city environments
- Minimum Courses that would be considered an
asset: Ground Disturbance, First Aid, WHMIS
2015, CSTS
- Knowledge of handling requirements of fibre
optics would be an asset
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye
coordination, and attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions,
confined spaces, isolation
- Ability to work in a physically demanding
atmosphere, must be able to lift and carry
50lbs+
- Self-disciplined, motivated, organized, and a
team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
Additional Requirements
- Valid drivers license with a G-Endorsement
for Heavy Trailer (preference given to Class
1 or Class 3)
- Clean drivers abstract
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on
emergency call outs as required
- Travel as required
- The successful candidate will be required to
pass a criminal record check
