Description

The Learning and Development Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for consulting with senior management and stakeholders to assess and identify organizational learning opportunities and gaps for those we serve. The Learning and Development Manager will collaborate with management to recommend an established learning framework and support the building of a learning infrastructure and standards for implementation.  Technical duties include defining user roles, creating learning courses, building custom certification, providing feedback for learners.  Collaboration duties include participating in the process of information exchange, assisting in the process of the review creation, and consulting with other teams to implement the best learning practices.  Staff training duties include creating training courses on a regular basis, keeping track of freshly uploaded relevant courses, spot and resolve issues in courses, and helping learners with any issues.
The Learning and Development Manager will support the creation and implementation of SFNFCIs Learning Management System, ongoing management and execution of learning programs including leadership development, and select programs (i.e. Prevention Core Training) based on prioritized needs of the organization and the audiences SFNFCI serves. The learning work will be aligned with SFNFCI business priorities of supporting capacity development, culture development, change management, employee engagement and talent/performance management.
The Learning and Development Manager has working knowledge of training products and services, suppliers and resources. The Learning and Development Manager will collaboratively design and develop curriculum that is based on First Nations values and culturally relevant practices.
