Description

The North East Service Area in Meadow Lake requires a Resource Development Worker to provide services under the Authority of The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act.


As a Resource Development Worker, you will be responsible for delivery of services, which include casework and resource planning related to a variety of programs for children in care, foster families and/or extended family caregivers.

You will work effectively and positively with co-workers, supervisors, the regional management team and caregivers to support regional directions that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families. You may be required to deliver training or facilitate groups for educational/support purposes. You may conduct intensive home studies for prospective foster parents, facilitate foster care placements and provide post-placement support and maintenance.

You may provide support to caregivers to develop planning for childrens best interests and work with them in establishing the supports they require. You may work with foster parents/caregivers to plan and prepare the childs return home.

You will act as a liaison and consultant where required, with FNCFS and other community agencies, on matters relating to service delivery and decisions regarding children. When required, you will be expected to represent the unit, Ministry and region on various agency, community or internal committees.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours and travel.

To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or an equivalent Bachelor of Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW or CASW/CASWE.
