Description

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) protects consumer interests and supports economic well-being through responsive financial and consumer marketplace regulation.  FCAA currently has an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader who can fulfill the crucial role Deputy Director with the Consumer Credit Division of the FCAA.

The Consumer Credit Division (CCD) is responsible for legislation regulating trust and loan companies, mortgage brokerages, payday lenders and credit unions. Reporting to the Director of CCD, you will manage staff in the delivery of the core activities of the division including managing licensing activities, overseeing consumer inquiries and complaint investigations, and exchanging information with the Audit Finance Branch to facilitate their risk-based audits, and determining appropriate regulatory responses to findings. A significant portion of your responsibilities will relate to meeting CCDs regulatory responsibilities for a deposit taking trust corporation. The position may be requested to assist in the completion of strategic projects, and other work such as developing and implementing new legislation and regulatory policy as required.

As a member of the FCAA management team, your responsibilities will include CCDs monthly fiscal forecasting and preparation of briefing notes and similar communications.

We are looking for a leader with both technical and management experience. Successful candidates must bring the experience and breadth of knowledge necessary to succeed in the position. Typically, the technical skills required for this position would be obtained through a professional accounting or finance designation (CPA, CFA, etc.) along with several years of progressive experience.  An alternative combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. Experience in the banking or credit union sectors would be a definite asset.
