General Description:
Can you fix anything? Do your friends call you MacGyver?Are you always working on a project, tweaking something,or trying to improve upon an existing object? The Saskatchewan Science Centre is looking for you! We need an Exhibit Maintenance Technician! This jack-of-all-trades contributes the upkeep and repairs of exhibits at the Saskatchewan Science Centre.

Keeping the exhibits and exhibit floor tidy and in top working order is a priority. This unique position lets you flex your creative muscles by repainting, repairing, and sometimes fabricating various Science Centre exhibits, displays,and fixtures. We can guarantee that no two days will ever be the same,and that life will never be boring.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and requires minimal supervision.

Specific Responsibilities:
The Exhibit Maintenance Technician will be responsible for
General exhibit operation, cleaning, and maintenance;
Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing exhibits on an ongoing basis; and
Assisting with the set up and dismantling of visiting exhibitions.

Qualifications:

A variety of experience in one or more technical disciplines including electronics, mechanical, appliance repair, and/or carpentry.
Experience with a variety of tools, systems, techniques used in repair and maintenance, painting, and decorating.  
A willingness to tackle problems and learn new skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally, and in writing.
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
