X-Terra Environmental Services Ltd. is an Indigenous-owned environmental and engineering service company specializing in environmental assessment, permitting, regulatory compliance monitoring, reclamation and remediation. We have served the oil and gas, mining, utility and government sectors since 1997. We currently have an opening in our team for a Safety Manager to be located out of either our Lloydminster or Saskatoon office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting staff in the overall Health and Safety Program. Specific duties include:
- Continuous improvement of the existing Health and Safety Program and associate processes, procedures and policies
- Advise management of safety issues
- Identify training needs and plan and assist personnel in setting up required training
- Identify and investigate safety compliance issues
- Prepare and distribute safety bulletins
- Train and develop new staff
- Work with HR on WCB and OH&S case issues
- Incident investigation
- Prepare and assist with company-wide monthly safety meetings
- New hire orientations
- Data entry, maintaining statistics for year to year analysis through S2Web safety software
- Maintain COR certification
Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience working in a health and safety role and managing a safety program
- Active NCSO certification
- Working knowledge of Saskatchewan and Alberta health and safety regulations
- Team builder who works with leadership to create a culture of safety-focused employees
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
- Standard First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- H2S Alive certification
This position will have the option to be based out of Lloydminster or Saskatoon. Travel to both locations, as well as to on-site projects, will be required.
