Pleasant Hill Place (PHP) is a home for women who have children that have been placed in care, or women who may be at risk of having their children placed in such care. They could be homeless or on the verge of homelessness and in need of a variety of supports to help create a path toward independent living, positive parenting and self-reliance.
**Applicants must be willing to work Weekend shifts, both Saturday and Sundays evenings as well as Friday evening (4pm-midnight). Averaging 24 hours per week.
Qualifications for these positions are:
Experience working with people from marginalized communities;
Knowledge of the beliefs and values of Aboriginal cultures;
Understanding of Community Economic Development Practice;
Awareness of community resources and how to access them;
Excellent organizational and communication skills;
Mediation/conflict resolution and problem solving skills;
Valid drivers license is an asset;
Additional Specific Qualifications for PHP:
Experience in parenting or in supporting parents;
Social work and/or Early Childhood education would be an asset but not a prerequisite.
