Description

The Program Support Branch of the Ministry of Social Services provides corporate administrative service supports for ministry programs and works jointly with ministry program staff to help support both the programs and the clients of the ministry to achieve positive outcomes.

The Executive Director, Program Support is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is a dynamic and motivating leader with extensive knowledge and understanding of corporate administrative roles and responsibilities in a large organization. In this position, you will be accountable for leading teams in corporate administrative support services including capital accommodation, emergency social services and business continuity, office administration support and occupational health and safety support services. You will set the direction and guide the strategy of these functions to support and align with the ministry goals and objectives.

The candidate will possess knowledge, understanding and application of strategic government planning and decision-making processes; public policy development and program development; capital accommodation, occupational health and safety concepts, Emergency Social Services (ESS) and business continuity best practices, and fiscal management; human resource management practices/processes; and partnership building, negotiation and conflict management skills.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would be acquired through the completion of a graduate degree in business, public administration or a related field supplemented with significant government and management experience. A Masters in the above-noted degrees would be seen as an asset, along with corporate accommodation, health and safety, and capital planning work experience.
