Thank you.
To our next Graphic Designer, a haiku:
You speak in colour.
It's not brown, its soya sauce.
The font condenses.
You're a font geek. You don't say thats blue, you say its Pantone 286C. You know what kerning means and why it's called leading. You correct people when they say burnt orange when you know its really rust.
Arcas Advertising is looking for a part-time Graphic Designer on contract. Someone who cares as much about how the user experiences their design as much as how you think it looks. You can speak with clients, copywriters, account managers and project management systems with alacrity. You listen for adjectives. You love fonts and want to marry them (or at least date them). You know what a key message is and how to weave it into a campaign, website, outdoor or social media with allure. Words aren't just objects to be moved around within a design, they hold meaning for the pathway to connecting with the one person who is experiencing your design. (Wow, that was pretty heady. You can tell a copywriter wrote this and not a designer.)
We offer flexibility, work-from-office or home-edness, or a mixture of both. Were interested in hiring adults. Adults get their work done so they can go to the [insert interesting activity here] on Friday, or to Saskatoon for a concert on Tuesday, or Netflix binge-ing thats calling to you.
If you're interested in working (and playing) with other advertising adults, then please visit our website to fill out a short questionnaire and upload your resume and a good sampling of your work. No emails or calls please, we have clients we're a lookin after! Applicants going on to the next round will be notified. We apologize for not contacting the others, but please don't rest your self-esteem on our process. Go forth and be awesome regardless and show us we made a mistake in not interviewing you. All the best.
- The team of Arcas-ites.
