Early Childhood Educators provide integrated programming for all children in our early learning and childcare centre, including children with complex medical needs, creating an environment that promotes learning, individuality, growth and development while providing the highest standard of childcare. Shifts are 8 hrs/day, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated programming in a multi-aged early learning center
- Provide early childhood education with a multi-faceted approach, creating many programs utilizing different areas of expertise
- Plan and provide daily experiences/programming that support and promote each childs various skills
- Protect and promote the safety, health and well-being of each child
- Complete documentation: developmental assessments, anecdotal records, readiness checklists, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), & communication books
- Programming research, documentation, etc.
- Record programming dollar expenditures
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education level 1 certification/diploma required
- Current First Aid/CPR Training
- Experience with Emergent Curriculum and the Reggio Approach preferred
- Ability to handle physically demanding and challenging tasks
- Physical ability to perform and safely work with objects or persons of varying sizes; exertion of 100 lbs of force occasionally, 50 lbs of force regularly and 25 lbs of force continuously is required

- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
